I've been playing Heroes Chronicles on a Windows 7 64-bit laptop with no problems at all, apart from the occasional graphical glitch when I first start it that is resolved by restarting. If you in any way enjoy Heroes Chronicles you should grab Heroes III as well - heck, just buy the whole series :D

There was an older topic around here stating that Chronicles were not (yet) compatible with the HD mod. I guess the situation is not changed now.

It doesn't look like it is and I tried download it and installing it anyways, no go.
Is there really no way to up the resolution of the game at all? That's all I really want to do. Has anyone edited a .ini file or anything like that?

I don't think there is any built-in support for higher resolutions, and no one has ever done an alternative EXE like the HOMM3 HD mod
I'm afraid you have to go with the vanilla settings
